In the early days, the castle was illuminated by torches, candles, and oil lamps, and later the table petroleum lamps were used, examples of which are displayed on nightstands.
At the end of the World War I, a small power plant was built at Trakošćan Lake, which supplied a part of the castle with electricity and running water. Thus the Trakošćan Castle was the first electrified building in this area outside of larger urban complexes.
