Info about the educational trail

PARK-FOREST TRAKOŠĆAN

This is a forested part of the park and lake extending from the southwestern to the northeastern side of the castle, and is a protected natural area. It is one of the most beautifully formed park units, with rich vegetation, interesting panoramas, and offers a unique experience of untouched nature.

Today, there is an educational trail along the path around Lake Trakošćan, which provides insight into natural assets of this area. Red Cottage or Fishing Cottage is a wooden facility on the lake’s edges beyond eyeshot of the castle, and it is intended for a time-out spot during the walk. The facility originates from the mid-19th century, and today serves as an information desk on the Trakošćan educational trail.

EDUCATIONAL TRAIL TRAKOŠĆAN  'THE FAIRIES PATHWAY'

The educational trail which surrounds Lake Trakošćan is 5 km long, and can be experienced by taking a light walk for about 2 hours. There are 18 educational points on the trail, and also one information desk. The story about these unique natural assets of the area are told by the fairies...
