Library

Welcome to the library – the study of the castle’s owner.

It is equipped with neo-Renaissance furniture, after the example of other Renaissance palaces where the owners had their own work area, studiolo, with a writing desk, an armchair and a bookcase.

The entire library contains nowdays about 1500 books from the legacy of the Trakošćan Drašković family. The largest portion of the library contains books in German and French as these languages represented a true cultural link for the Drašković family with the developed Europe. Only a small portion of the library books is published in other languages. Their books are also a sign of their education and culture.
