Piano

Since the nobility was the main organizer of music events, thus the music accompanied all important moments in life of the Drašković family, at solemn occasions as well as in everyday life. To this testifies a manuscript booklet, i.e. a minor collection of the eighteenth century compositions, especially made for Countess Julijana Drašković.

In the salon, music was played on an early wooden piano, built between 1833 and 1837 at the workshop of Conrad Graf, one of the most well-known Viennese piano builder of his time. His workshop constructed pianos on which Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, Chopin and Lizst composed their music. These pianos are considered to be ideal for the interpretation of the Viennese classical and early romance music.
