On the partition wall, one can see a lithograph depicting the imperial and royal Austrian family along with a portrait of the deceased emperor Francis I. A series of figures in the painting makes a good case for studying the contemporary fashion: the women wear elaborate wide-sleeved dresses, tightened in the waist, below which are bell-formed skirts with rich pleats. A lavish embroidery and lace are the usual fashion details.
In this room, there are interesting portraits characteristic of Biedermeier painting. Exhibited are also a copy of the portrait of Theodor Baillet-Latour, the Austrian minister of war who was killed in 1848 during the October riots in Vienna, as well as the portrait of his daughter Sofia, married to Juraj VI Drašković, the castle's restorer.
Carl von Sales, a Viennese portraitist, portrayed Emperor Francis I and Empress Carolina Augusta on several occasions. Exhibited is here his work Boys with a dog, boys wearing monochrome suits with silk collars. Although the young dukes are probably portraited, their clothes are simply trailored and very similar to those of today.
